The National Project for Monitoring Water Quality in Jordan

  • Document the change of water resources quality over time. For this particular purpose, MoEnv and RSS cooperated to develop a data base for the project.
  • Determine the important physical, chemical (organic and inorganic) and microbial properties of the water in Jordan, such as pH, BOD5, COD, TSS, TDS, TH, Color, Turbidity, EC, TSS, Cl, NH4, SO4, NO3, NO2, TKN, T-N, Ca, Mg, SAR, Na, HCO3 TCC, TTCC, E. coli, algae, nematodes, and others heavy metals, FOG, Phenol, MBAS, TTHM, pesticides, herbicides and others.
  • Determine how matching the quality of water in Jordan with Jordanian standards requirements.
  • Identify the main reasons for water quality changes, whether such changes were positive or negative.
  • Identify pollution indicators for emergent situations and when necessary.
